Swedish ART® Experts Present

Presentations to the National Gangs Conference and the University of Cincinnati Criminal Justice Institute are acclaimed tremendous contributions for global understanding...

Today's Date -- Mikael Kalt, Chief Executive Officer of UngdomsAlternativet (UA); David Kliba, Director of Education and Training; Mariusz Hermelin, Director of Community Youth Services; and Eric Swensson, Junior ART® Trainer traveled to the United States to present to the Biennial Gangs Conference sponsored by the National Gangs Center and the Boys and Girls Clubs of America.  The Swedish guests provided 150 individuals an overview of the UA model that they developed to serve youth at risk and how they incorporate Aggression Replacement Training® into their daily programming for youth.   A Junior ART® Trainer who completed the Malmo program accompanied the group to demonstrate how young people who exhibit responsible pro-social behavior may become models for their peers.

The group was also invited to present to about 100 academics and practitioners in Cincinnati, Ohio at the University of Cincinnati, Criminal Justice Institute.  The colloquium was enthusiastically received and many community workers requested the group to continue to dialogue with them through email and internet to provide hands on practical advice to deal with at-risk youth.
